Almost funny... Chris told me that when I read the book he recommended, God would possibly reveal talents that I didn't know I had...

I qualified expert on the M9 yesterday. When instructed to put 'four in the head', that's what I did. I've fired handguns before, but never the M9.

Interesting Matt Fact: I first learned to shoot at church camp. I did so well, when I got home and showed my dad the targets, we went out and bought a .22 rifle.

update...

things aren't good. they're weird. I'm reading Chris's book, and the verdict is still out. I watched the Passion, and instead of making me feel better, it just made me sad. I'm looking for a purpose to my life, and the world just makes me sick and angry.

Like many of us do, I've turned to movie quotes to describe how I feel.

Stella's pacifier is connected to a clip via a nylon ribbon. She's gotten into the habit of taking it out of her mouth, unclipping it, and swinging it around like a ninja weapon.

Sometimes she hit herself, and, Lord forgive me, it's pretty funny.

what is she looking at?

back in December 2002, we were at Andrea's mom's house, and we thought we were pregnant. So Andrea took a pregnancy test, which tested positive. Then we used our medical connections (her step-Dad worked at a lab at the local hospital), and got another test. Positive. We went one step further to get a blood test (administered secretly by said step-father), and got the official results. On paper, in fact. We went to a stationery store and bought a card with "your first photo of baby" written inside.
The card was intended for an ultrasound photo, or a newborn photo, but instead we put the pregnancy test (and paper work) inside. After all the presents were opened, we presented a "forgotten" gift, and I was there to take the photo at the most excellent moment.
